What is Mu Alpha Nu?
- Mu Alpha Nu is the official Anthropology Club at Eastern New Mexico University.
What are our goals?
- To stimulate interest in anthropology and anthropological concerns as they are experienced through the three subdisciplines: physical anthropology, cultural anthropology, and archaeology.
- To promote professionalism, responsibility, and citizenship among its student members who will one day take their place among the rank and file of the discipline.
What do we do?
- These goals are achieved by having the Club sponser a variety of activities that include membership meetings, field trips to areas of cultural and archaeological interest, lectures by professionals and students active in the discipline, and participation in community and collegiate events.
- Attendance at professional conferences and seminars, such as the annual meeting of the Society of American Archaeology, is strongly promoted.
- The Club also encourages its members to serve as volunteers in key positions, such as student senate and various committees, thereby promoting the well being of the university community.
